Privacy policy
What we collect from this website, why we have it, where it sits and how to get it back or have it deleted.
Last updated 9 September 2026
l33tbot supplies commercial robots to businesses across Australia and New Zealand, and services them. This policy covers the website at l33tbot.com, including the enquiry form on the home page, and any email you send us in reply.
We handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, for people in New Zealand, the information privacy principles in the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ). We follow both regardless of whether our current turnover puts us inside the Australian small business exemption.
Who we are
l33tbot is a robotics supply and service business operating in Australia and New Zealand, based in Sydney. You can reach us at sales@l33tbot.com. We are the organisation responsible for the personal information described here.
What we collect
Information you send us
The enquiry form asks for your name, company, email address, phone number, the sector you work in and your country. Only your name and email address are required. There is a free-text message box, so we also receive whatever you choose to write in it.
If you email us at sales@l33tbot.com, or reply to something we send you, we keep that correspondence and anything attached to it.
The form also contains a hidden field that real people leave empty. It catches automated spam. If you fill it in, the submission is discarded.
Information your browser sends automatically
Netlify hosts this site and records standard server information for every request: your IP address, the page you asked for, the date and time, your browser and device type, and the page that referred you. We use this to keep the site running and to see roughly how much traffic it gets. We don't link it to anything you send through the form.
What we don't do
- This site runs no analytics. No Google Analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising tags, no session recording.
- The site sets no cookies of its own and stores nothing in your browser.
- We don't add people who enquire to a marketing list, and we don't send bulk email.
- We don't sell, rent or trade personal information.
- We don't use automated decision-making or profiling. A person at l33tbot reads every enquiry and decides what to do with it.
Third parties your browser contacts
Loading a page here makes requests to a few services we don't run. Each one receives your IP address as part of answering the request, and each has its own privacy policy.
- Netlify hosts the site and receives every request to it.
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) serves the two typefaces the site uses.
- Google's favicon service and DuckDuckGo's icon service supply the manufacturer logos shown on the home page.
You can block these at the browser level. The site still works, with different fonts and missing logos.
Why we collect it
- To answer your enquiry and work out whether we can help with the work you described.
- To quote, arrange a site visit, and get a machine deployed and serviced.
- To keep a record of who asked for what, and what we told them.
- To meet our tax, accounting and other legal obligations.
We use your contact details to reply to you about your enquiry. If we ever want to send you something else, we'll ask first and there will be an obvious way to stop it.
Where it is stored
A submitted enquiry lands in two places. Netlify stores the form submission on its servers, which are in the United States. A copy is emailed to the sales@l33tbot.com mailbox, which runs on Microsoft 365.
By sending the form you are giving us information that will be held outside Australia and New Zealand. We choose providers with published security and privacy commitments, and we take reasonable steps to see that they handle the information properly, though we don't control how they run their systems.
Who we give it to
People outside l33tbot see your information only in these situations:
- A robot manufacturer or service partner where answering your question needs them, and then only the part they need. We ask before naming you to anyone.
- Our accountants, lawyers or insurers where they need it to do their job.
- Where a law, a court or a regulator requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries stay in the mailbox and in Netlify's form store while we are talking. If you become a customer, we keep the records for seven years after our last dealing with you, which matches Australian tax record-keeping. If nothing comes of the enquiry, we delete the submission within 24 months.
Ask us to delete it sooner and we will, unless we have to keep it by law.
Security and data breaches
The site is served over HTTPS, so what you type into the form is encrypted on its way to us. Access to the mailbox and to the Netlify account is limited to people at l33tbot who need it. We review that access as the business changes.
No system is completely secure and we won't claim otherwise. If a breach happens that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you what happened and what to do about it, and notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or the New Zealand Privacy Commissioner as the law requires.
Access, correction and deletion
Email sales@l33tbot.com and tell us what you want. We may ask a question or two to confirm it's you, then:
- Access. We'll send you what we hold about you, usually within 30 days. There's no charge.
- Correction. Tell us what's wrong and we'll fix it. If we disagree that it's wrong, we'll record your view alongside ours.
- Deletion. We'll delete what we hold unless a law requires us to keep it, and we'll tell you which parts we kept and why.
You can also deal with us anonymously or under a pseudonym for a general question about what we do. We can't quote a specific site without knowing who you are and where it is.
Complaints
If you think we've mishandled your information, email sales@l33tbot.com with "Privacy complaint" in the subject line. We'll acknowledge it within 5 business days and give you a written answer within 30 days.
If our answer doesn't satisfy you, you can take it to the regulator.
Australia. Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints or 1300 363 992.
New Zealand. Office of the Privacy Commissioner. privacy.org.nz or 0800 803 909.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when what we do changes. The date at the top tells you when we last did. If a change affects information you've already sent us, we'll email you about it rather than rely on you re-reading this page.
